The 53-year-old Blackmon, at NCPDCA for the last 5+ years, said he will stay to help search for a new CFO, which NCPDCA expects will occur April 1, 2010The 63-year-old Blackmon, NCPDCA Co-Founder and Chief Finacial Officer since 2003 will stay on a little longer to help pick and train a new CFO, which NCPDCA expects will occur sometime in September, 2010. Blackmon, a Charlotte native says that he is excited about spending more time with his family. Rumor has it that he will be taking up flying lessons. We wish all the best to Bill and his family and will check in on him from time to time in the future.

The new NCPDCA Industry Standard for 2 Part Epoxy Flooring / Concrete Coatings will be authored by Tom Joiner. Tom, a retired sales and service executive manager from 3M also authored many of the 3M epoxy coating procedural manuals from 1977 – 2002. We welcome him and his expertise.

Local HBAs in North Carolina took home seven Association Excellence Awards at the 2010 Executive Officers Council Seminar in Charlotte.

North Carolina Home Building Institute AwardWilliam Blackmon,  of the North Carolina Painting and Decorating Contractors  Association NCPDCA, received the 2009 Howard K. Lloyd Memorial “Association of Excellence” Award, which honors the most outstanding home building related associations in the state.  During his tenure, Blackmon and his staff have doubled the NCPDCA membership, added unique networking events and added an extensive education programs for those in the home building industry.  This year marks the second consecutive year a North Carolina executive officer took home the prestigious award.
